North Side diving
The North Side of the Grand Cayman has lovely beaches and offers plenty of shore diving opportunities. Boat trips will take you to the far out walls and reefs that have spectacular diving. Both snorkelers and divers will find the North Side underwater activities very rewarding.
Always dive according to your level of training. Never enter the water without checking with the local dive center for safety, additional information, level required for each dive site and without being accompanied by a professional.

Although there is a lot of shore diving it will be worth noting that the beaches on the north side are rocky. They can be quite slippery in some areas at the entry and exit points and the sea conditions are at times rough. For this reason it is very important to consult your local dive center before doing any shore diving. The shore diving on this end of the Grand Caymans is recommended for experienced divers. Also the winds are bound to change suddenly thus the need for care. North Side has a lot of interesting dive sites but probably some of the best known are Eagle Ray Pass, Stroke Canyon, No name Wall, Roberts Wall and Rum Point just to name a few. Although many dives are shore dives some are done by boat.
The North Wall is a popular diving place. It has some of the islands most impressive, steepest drop offs and colourful corals and sponges. Sandbar and Stingray city are located here and are home to the world famous stingrays. You will encounter turtles, stingrays and eaglerays that may be seen in groups. Other sightings may include lobsters, eels, sharks and plenty of fish of all sizes.
The shallower reefs have a lot of micro life. You are also likely to see big turtles and large pelagics as well as crabs, anemone shrimps and flatworms. For underwater photographers this is a great place to take exceptional shots.
The dive sites here are many and herewith mentioned are just but few of what awaits you underwater. The diving centers will work out a program to suit you needs. If you need to take a course, or do some recreational diving you will find a wide variety of programs offered by the scuba diving operators on place.
